Bicyclists rode to the Ohio Statehouse on Tuesday, May 21, in a demonstration to show their support for a bill that seeks to require motorists to have at least 3 feet between the vehicle and bicycle.
According to Rob Hendricks, one of the 15 cyclists who was clamoring for the passage of the bill, the new bill facing legislators encourages bicycling while also sending a message that bicycle riders are protected and that the state acknowledges that they also belong on the road.
However, legislators are also asking whether the bicyclists could also be held responsible for maintaining a fair distance, sharing the responsibility with the motorists.
